NEW FACILITY FUNDRAISER 2008

As a compassionate human being and an animal lover, you are probably appalled at the recent publicity about dog fighting and other forms of animal cruelty. Famous sports figures make big headlines.

There were no big headlines about the dog and her young puppies abandoned near Muldrow, OK, in the bitter cold without anywhere to go, without shelter from the bitter cold, and without food.

Daily headlines do not remind us that 27 million unwanted animals are given to shelters in the U.S. every year, and over 10 million animals are put to death every year in the U.S. because they are abandoned and unwanted.

Homeless animals don’t ask much of us. All they need is a little food, freedom from pain and fear…and most of all…a chance to be adopted.

How can we help? How can you help us help? Ahimsa Rescue Foundation in Muldrow, (Sequoyah County) Oklahoma, took in that abandoned dog, as well as the one with her, who was about to give birth at any time. This is just one of many stories.

Ahimsa works to save lives of adoptable pets and to educate and sensitize people to the plight of animals. We work to reduce pet overpopulation and to alleviate pain, fear and suffering in all animals.

Our Mission is to place needy animals in responsible homes, provide humane education, and encourage spaying and neutering.

Our mission is critical because:

We are working to correct this situation. In accordance with our mission, we rescue needy animals and place them in foster care at private homes. During their foster care Ahimsa:

However, we do not have space in foster homes to receive the many needy animals. In order to create more space, Ahimsa Rescue Foundation is raising money to renovate the former Muldrow Nursing home to use for our animal shelter and provide the facility needed to rescue more animals in need. The Nursing home

Here’s how you can help:

Ahimsa Rescue Foundation is seeking donations to renovate the new facility in order to rescue more animals in need as soon as possible. We need funding to transform the former nursing home into spacious indoor/outdoor runs for homeless animals. We need funding to make an isolation area for sick or injured animals, create an area for homeless cats, and secure a fence around the 4 acres so animals can have a safe place to exercise and play in.
